24 November 2025 The Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University (KKU), spearheaded the Final Sharing Session for the ‘Green Gen’ Project. The event was led by Assistant Professor Nutthaphon Meekaeo, Assistant Dean for Network Management and International Affairs, Dr. Chayachon Chuenon, and Dr. Pattaraporn Phondee, Assistant Dean for Student Development and Alumni Relations. They were joined by teachers and secondary school students from supporting institutions, including the Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University (Secondary Section), Chathurat Witthayanukul School (Chaiyaphum Province), and Phet Wittayakhan School (Chaiyaphum Province).
The Green Gen Project is financially supported by Deloitte Thailand in cooperation with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for STEM Education (SEAMEO STEM-ED) and several Thai universities: Chulalongkorn University, Khon Kaen University, Thaksin University, and Naresuan University.
The project aimed to enhance the competency of Thai youth in critical, creative thinking, increase environmental awareness, and promote sustainable development. It also focused on fostering collaboration with local communities to drive social and environmental sustainability through various community engagement and campaigning activities.
Specifically, the project encompassed:
- Integrated learning in Science, Mathematics, Technology, and Engineering (STEM) utilising the Concord Consortium online platform.
- Studying local community problems and disseminating knowledge regarding sustainable energy to community members.
- Presenting the students’ learning journeys in collaboration with their communities.
During the Green Campaign Sharing Session, the participating faculty members and students visited ARV (AI and Robotics Venters) Thailand to study Green Innovation—future-oriented green innovations for environmental protection and sustainability. They exchanged knowledge and observed product demonstrations. Subsequently, the participants visited the Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS) station to learn the principles of storytelling and documentary filmmaking. The students then presented and reflected on their project outcomes alongside students from schools across the country.
This activity successfully demonstrated the robust cooperation between the education sector, universities, schools, organisations, and the private sector in actively raising awareness of environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
