Khon Kaen University and the Chinese Consulate General Organise “Chinese Consul Tour to University” to Promote Safe Living in Thailand

Khon Kaen University cooperated with the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Khon Kaen to host an event dedicated to enhancing Chinese students’ understanding of legal guidelines and security protocols for their lives in Thailand.

On 4 December 2025, from 14:30–16:30 hrs, Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, along with the International Relations Division, successfully co-organised the “Chinese Consul Tour to University 2025” event with the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Khon Kaen.

The primary objectives of the event were to promote understanding of laws, safety regulations, and guidelines for life in Thailand among Chinese students, and to serve as a platform for knowledge exchange between Thai and Chinese agencies. The event was honoured by the presence of Mr. Zhou Guangxu, Consul of the People’s Republic of China in Khon Kaen, and Assistant Professor Dararat Khampu Saen, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University, who both delivered speeches.

The event featured presentations on topics beneficial to international students, including:

  • Cautions for Chinese Students Studying in Thailand, presented by Mrs. Zhang Changhui from the Chinese Consulate General.
  • Cautions for Living in Northeastern Thailand, delivered by an officer from the Tourist Police Division.
  • Policies regarding Immigration and Visa Applications, presented by an officer from the Khon Kaen Provincial Immigration Office.
  • Sharing Experiences of Living in Khon Kaen, presented by Mr. Ouyang Youming, Manager of Khon Kaen Language School.

Towards the conclusion of the activity, attendees exchanged opinions, and consular protection public relations materials were distributed to provide supplementary information.

This event reflects the strong cooperation between Khon Kaen University, the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China, and local security and educational authorities. This relationship is crucial for ensuring Chinese international students can live safely and sustainably in Thailand.
