The President of Khon Kaen University led a delegation of executives to attend the 33rd anniversary celebration of the Sirikit Heart Center, continuing the royal commitment to “Creating Value for Thai Hearts.”

Associate Professor Dr. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, along with university executives, participated in activities commemorating the anniversary of the establishment of the Sirikit Heart Center. The Northeastern Region, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, celebrates its 33rd anniversary under the theme: “33 Years of the Sirikit Heart Center of Royal Benevolence, Continuing the Royal Vision, Creating Value for Thai Hearts” on the morning of December 30, 2025.

The Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast was established in accordance with the royal initiative of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, to serve as a world-class center for the treatment of heart diseases for the people of the Northeastern region. Her Majesty The Queen Mother graciously presided over the foundation stone laying ceremony of the building on the 19th. December 1992, and has been providing services as a refuge for the people continuously until its 33rd anniversary this year. Currently, its main mission is as a Medical Excellence Center, focusing on the treatment of complex heart and vascular diseases, producing specialized medical personnel, and conducting international innovative research.

The Auspicious Ceremony to Pay Tribute to His Majesty’s Great Kindness and Grace In the morning at 7:00 a.m., Associate Professor Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, the president of Khon Kaen University, led the administrative team in a merit-making ceremony with alms offerings to 34 monks at the front courtyard of the Samrit Phra Haritthai. (East side adjacent to Mittraphap Road)

Then, at 7:09 a.m., the ceremony of meditation was attended to offer royal merit and pay homage to the great kindness and benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, with the kind presence of Luang Por Yuwin Phuripanyo as the presiding monk.

Participating in this event is not only a celebration of the achievements of the departments under Khon Kaen University but also a reaffirmation of the university’s commitment to driving the organization forward in accordance with its mission of creating value and well-being for the hearts of all Thai people in a sustainable manner.
