Khon Kaen University (KKU) invites children, youth, and families to celebrate National Children’s Day 2026 on Saturday, 10 January 2026, with a full day of fun, learning, and family-friendly activities across the campus. KKU will open its learning spaces to inspire creativity, development, and quality time for families through activities organised by multiple faculties and units.
The celebrations coincide with the Khon Kaen International Marathon 2026, which takes place from 10–11 January 2026. Specifically, on Saturday, 10 January 2026, the 21st Khon Kaen International Marathon will feature races in the Kids Run (2.8 km), Fun Run (5.4 km), and Elite Fun Run (5.4 km) categories. The Kids Run event is specially designed for children aged 6 and above and their families. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to the top five winners in each age group. This presents an excellent opportunity for parents to run alongside their children, creating shared experiences in physical activity and lasting memories.

Concurrently, the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the Khon Kaen International Marathon, is hosting the “Learn Topia: Fun Run & Fun Learn” event at the Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University (Kindergarten Section), starting from 09:00 hrs. Activities include creative learning stations designed by student-teachers, tailored to suit various age groups. The event will also feature stage performances by youth and university students, fostering an atmosphere of fun, creativity, and meaningful learning for children and families.

Meanwhile, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University will organise National Children’s Day activities from 07:30–12:00 hrs at the central stage area near the Faculty of Medicine Library (2nd floor). Under the theme “Safety First – Safety is Number One,” more than 20 hands-on learning stations will teach children essential health and safety knowledge through interactive activities, games, and prizes. All activities are free of charge.

Furthermore, the Khon Kaen University Library will open its learning space throughout the day, from 09:00–16:00 hrs. The Library will host activities promoting learning through technology and imagination, such as immersive media experiences, drawing and colouring activities, storytelling using Artificial Intelligence technology, musical performances, environmental conservation initiatives, and educational board games. These activities aim to enhance critical thinking skills, foster learning, and encourage families to spend time together.

In parallel, the KKU Museum and Lifelong Learning Centre will host activities from 08:30–16:30 hrs, featuring science, technology, environment, and innovation learning stations. Children and youth will engage in hands-on experiments and enjoy science shows that present complex ideas in a fun and accessible way.

The National Children’s Day 2026 activities at Khon Kaen University represent a concerted effort across multiple units to provide opportunities for children and youth to learn, grow, and create positive memories with their families. Interested families can bring their children to participate in all events free of charge throughout the day.
