Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Education (KKU) recently organised a dedicated forum to gather student input, aiming to refine its learning environment and solidify its position as a leading faculty in the ASEAN region.
8 January 2026 – The Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, organised the “Student Voice” activity. This event included the presentation of “Best Practices” from students representing each academic major, alongside a New Year 2026 Welcome Festival, held at Saisuree Jutikul Room.
The ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Issara Kanjak, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Education. He was accompanied by Associate Professor Wayu Kanjanasorn, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Sustainable Society; Assistant Professor Phattaraporn Pondee, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for Student Development and Alumni Relations; and representatives from the Faculty of Education Student Union. The central objective of the event was to gather opinions and suggestions directly from student representatives, who are regarded as the “core element” for the Faculty’s continuous development.
Associate Professor Dr. Issara Kanjak emphasised the crucial importance of actively listening to the students. He stated that the feedback received would be used to improve the Faculty across all dimensions, including learning management, educational support facilities, infrastructure, and safety measures, thereby ensuring the well-being of all students. The Dean further highlighted that the development of new academic programmes in the near future will focus on producing “Smart Teachers” and “Innovators” who possess comprehensive professional knowledge, the ‘Spirit of the Teacher,’ and essential life skills.
The main activities featured the presentation of “Best Practices” by students from each major, facilitating the exchange of creative and innovative work. This was followed by an open forum session dedicated to student feedback on various aspects, such as the learning environment, the academic ecosystem, and suggested improvements for classrooms and safety systems. To foster community and engagement, the event also incorporated a New Year gift lucky draw, hosted by the executive team, which brought smiles and lasting positive impressions to all participants.
This activity successfully established a “Safe Zone” for students to articulate their needs and expectations. The resultant in-depth information will be vital for the Faculty in developing a modern, responsive learning ecosystem capable of supporting its goal to nurture future educational innovators. Furthermore, by participating in the Faculty’s management alongside the administrators, the students were able to strengthen their inherent ‘Spirit of the Teacher’ and enhance their leadership capabilities.
