Graduate School Organizes the 24th ‘Phi Hai Nong’ Outreach Program at Ban Tum Huay School, Khon Kaen

The Graduate School, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the Graduate Student Club, successfully organized the 24th GS Volunteer ‘Phi Hai Nong’ (Seniors Give to Juniors) Community Development Program. The event took place from 22–23 January 2026 at Ban Tum Huay School in Chonnabot District, Khon Kaen Province. More than 60 participants, including graduate students, academic staff, and university personnel, joined the activities alongside the school’s students, teachers, and staff.

This program was conducted in alignment with the university’s mission to provide academic services to the community, featuring a variety of activities. These included school premises maintenance (BBL) and the establishment of a learning library. Four academic stations were set up: the essentials of daily science; the production of bags from flowers; the detection of chemical contaminants in food and drinking water; and nutritional education focusing on the five food groups.

Additionally, the program awarded 25 scholarships to diligent students facing financial hardship. The team also delivered educational materials, agricultural tools, five wall-mounted fans, sports equipment, and a first-aid kit to support student healthcare.

Professor Kiatichai Faksri, Dean of the Graduate School, presided over the handover ceremony. He remarked that the program reflects the university’s commitment to providing academic service to society and instilling a sense of social responsibility in graduate students. Ms. Ketsuda Buadee, Director of Ban Tum Huay School, expressed gratitude for the 24th GS Volunteer ‘Phi Hai Nong’ program from the Graduate School, accepting donations, scholarships from benefactors, learning materials, sports equipment, and agricultural tools.

The ‘Phi Hai Nong’ program aims to foster sustainable development in the foundational education of rural youth and strengthen the relationship between the university and the local community.
