On 27 January 2026, Khon Kaen University (KKU) hosted the “KKU delivers happiness to media networks” event to express gratitude and strengthen relations with representatives from all media sectors. The event was chaired by Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University.
Also in attendance were Associate Professor Pensri Jaroenwanit, Ph.D., Vice President for Student Affairs and Innovation Commercialization; Mrs. Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Vice President for Legal and Communications; Associate Professor Cholatip Pongskul, M.D., Assistant to the President for Strategic Plan Monitoring and Key Initiatives; Associate Professor Prapansak Chaveerach, DVM., Ph.D., Assistant to the President for Student Affairs and Innovation Commercialization; along with executives, faculty members, and staff. They warmly welcomed media representatives from various organisations, including the Khon Kaen Provincial Television Photojournalist Association, the Khon Kaen Provincial Media Association, the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT), and other media channels. The event was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere at the Bayasita Hotel, Khon Kaen University.
Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, remarked, “On behalf of Khon Kaen University, I would like to sincerely thank all our media partners for honouring us with their presence today. This special occasion allows us to express our appreciation and celebrate the New Year festival together. Normally, we meet primarily for news coverage duties, so this event is intended to be a relaxed space to foster closer, stronger relationships. We are deeply grateful to all media channels for consistently serving as a vital voice in disseminating the university’s mission and activities. On this auspicious New Year, I wish everyone robust health, freedom from all peril, and may the coming year bring fulfilment and success in all your endeavours.”
Mrs. Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Vice President for Legal and Corporate Communications, added, “Throughout the past year, the university and the media have worked closely together, much like a family. My gratitude goes out to all the media representatives who have always provided excellent cooperation whenever invited to our activities. This event is organised to offer our heartfelt thanks. We wish you continued good health and hope you will work alongside Khon Kaen University for many years to come. May all your aspirations be realised, and may you be loved by both humanity and the heavens.”

Mr. Chansit Fangchaiphum, President of the Khon Kaen Provincial Television Photojournalist Association, expressed his thoughts: “As Khon Kaen University steps into its 62nd year, I extend my congratulations and strongly believe that the university will continue to advance with stability and quality. This is particularly true due to the dedication of faculty and staff in nurturing youth to become key contributors to the nation, as well as their continuous production of research beneficial to the country. As a media representative, I thank Khon Kaen University for always valuing and taking good care of the media community.”

Mr. Charoenluck Phetpradap, President of the Khon Kaen Provincial Media Association, commented on the university’s evolving role: “The media ecosystem is undergoing significant changes today, requiring us to foster a mutual understanding regarding the roles and impact of content presentation. Nevertheless, I commend Khon Kaen University for its remarkable adaptability and ability to keep pace with these changes. While we previously viewed KKU as the intellectual treasure trove of the Northeast, today, KKU is advancing to become an ‘economic treasure trove.’ This transition is driven by key strategies like the KKU Wellness Centre project, situated on over 5,000 rai of prime city land, which is certain to generate immense value for the province. Therefore, I urge the President and the executives to continue leading the university to serve as both an intellectual and economic resource for the people of the Northeast.”

The event featured a joyful and warm atmosphere, including a costume contest under the theme “Golden Body,” which saw enthusiastic participation from the media personnel. Souvenirs were also presented as a token of the university’s appreciation. This gathering served not only to thank the media for their essential role in communicating the university’s achievements to the public but also to lay the groundwork for continued collaboration as partners dedicated to driving educational, research, and academic service missions for future societal development.
