KKU Achieves Global Recognition in Business and Economics Rankings, Placing 3rd Nationally and 601–800 Worldwide

Khon Kaen University (KKU) has achieved another significant milestone, securing third place nationally and a global ranking in the 601–800 band in the Business and Economics subject group according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2024–2026. This accomplishment underscores the university’s academic strength and the internationally recognised quality of its teaching and research.

Khon Kaen University has identified international standardisation in education and research as a core strategic objective. Its goals include strengthening academic excellence in Business and Economics, promoting research with clear social and economic impact, enhancing collaboration across faculties and units, and producing globally competitive graduates. Collectively, these efforts support the University’s ambition to position itself as a leading institution at both regional and global levels.

           

Associate Professor Suthin Wianwiwat, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Khon Kaen University, stated, “This success is the result of integrated collaboration among all university units. The Dean further explained that the rankings were conducted by Times Higher Education (THE), a leading global university ranking organisation. The assessment uses comprehensive criteria, including quality of teaching, research output, citations, academic reputation, and socio-economic impact. Achieving this level of ranking reflects KKU’s potential and excellence in global competition.

This ranking outcome is a testament to the collaborative support and efforts of several related faculties and units within Khon Kaen University, including the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, the Faculty of Economics, the College of International Affairs (CIC), the College of Graduate Study in Management (CGSM), the Department of Economics within the Faculty of Agriculture, and the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies.

The success achieved in these rankings is the result of systematic and continuous effort across multiple dimensions.
