Bureau of Academic Administration and Deve;opment Khon Kaen Universitythe CWIE KM Forum: Knowledge Sharing to Enhance International CWIE Implementation from 24–26 January 2026 at River Tree Resort, Chiang Khan District, Loei Province. The forum brought together 40 university executives, faculty members, and CWIE coordinators from various faculties to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and collectively define strategic directions for strengthening KKU’s international Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) system in a structured and sustainable manner.
Strategic Dialogue Toward a “Results-Driven” International CWIE
Key insights from the seminars and workshops highlighted that the effective advancement of international CWIE requires the continuous development of collaborative networks with domestic and international organizations. Such partnerships are viewed as a critical mechanism for expanding learning opportunities and enhancing real-world work experiences for students.
Student and Faculty Preparedness: The Core of International CWIE Quality
Another major focus was the importance of preparing students prior to participating in CWIE programs, supported by clear and systematic assessment mechanisms. This preparation ensures that students develop the necessary skills, professional competencies, and mindsets aligned with the demands of today’s global labor market. Faculty readiness and shared understanding of CWIE were also recognized as key success factors.
Leveraging Data and Digital Tools for Sustainable International CWIE
Participants also agreed on the necessity of establishing a centralized CWIE digital platform to systematically collect and manage data on students participating in CWIE programs. Such data can be utilized to analyze labor market trends, identify in-demand skills, and support evidence-based policy planning in the future. In addition, the use of digital communication tools, such as infographics and short videos, was recommended to enhance understanding and engagement with CWIE among students and partner organizations.
International CWIE and the Future Direction of Khon Kaen University
The forum concluded with a shared vision that international CWIE not only enables students to better understand themselves, transition more quickly into the workforce, and build professional networks, but also serves as a strategic driver for enhancing the university’s global image, advancing international research collaboration, increasing access to scholarships, and expanding strategic target groups.
Moving Forward Toward International CWIE that Delivers Sustainable Value
The outcomes of the CWIE KM Forum mark a significant milestone in laying a solid foundation for KKU’s international CWIE system. By strengthening strategic partnerships, digital data infrastructure, and comprehensive stakeholder preparedness, KKU aims to ensure that international CWIE goes beyond a learning process to become a value-driven mechanism that delivers tangible and sustainable benefits to students, partner organizations, and society at large
