Khon Kaen University (KKU) students brought pride to the institution by securing the North-eastern Regional Championship in the Future Food business category at the UBI Alpha Business Contest 2026. This significant achievement was attained at the regional Bootcamp & Pitching competition, held as part of the One Stop Open House 2026 event from 2–3 February 2026, at the North-eastern Regional Science Park 1 in Khon Kaen Province.

The award-winning entry was the “Deep Fried Kai Phum Crisps” product, developed under the team name Kai Phum Obl Krอบ (Kai Phum Crisps). This product was initially selected from 47 competing teams during the university selection round and was subsequently chosen as one of the 15 representatives from the North-eastern region to partake in the regional competition. The team successfully secured the regional championship in the Future Food category.

The winning team members include Mr. Kittinan Prapayukt, Ms. Wiranchana Singhawankun, and Ms. Aksarapak Prapayukt, students from the Faculty of Economics, alongside a student from the Khon Kaen University Demonstration School (Secondary Section, Mo Din Daeng).

This success reflects the strong potential of Khon Kaen University’s youth and students in developing innovative solutions and expanding their ideas into new entrepreneurial ventures. Having now earned the honour of representing the North-eastern region, the Kai Phum Obl Krอบ team is set to compete in the national final round. The final competition is scheduled to be held on 7 March 2026, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, as part of the One Stop Open House event.
