On 21 January 2026, the Dental Hospital of the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University (KKU), successfully hosted the 4th Annual Dental Hospital Quality Development (Best Practices) Awards Programme, titled “Pun Dao” (Shaping the Stars), for the academic year 2026. The event took place at the Rubkwan Meeting Room, Bayasita Hotel, Khon Kaen University, from 08:00 hrs to 16:30 hrs.

The primary objective of this programme was to promote quality improvement initiatives, stimulate innovation, and provide an opportunity for internal personnel to exchange knowledge derived from practical operations, thereby continuously elevating the quality of services provided by the Dental Hospital.
The opening ceremony featured a report on the programme’s objectives delivered by Dr. Teerapun Sornsakul, Deputy Dean for the Dental Hospital. The programme was formally opened by Assistant Professor Ajiravudh Subarnbhesaj, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry.
The evaluation committee comprised distinguished experts, including Associate Professor Waraporn Suwanarong, D.D.S., Rewadee Srihanu, D.D.S., Khun Kitiporn Chaiyokul, Ratchaneekorn Sawisit, D.D.S., Krit Leelathepinth, D.D.S., Panthipa Yowapui, D.D.S., Jirattikal Innupat, D.D.S., Teerapong Kerd-iam, D.D.S., and Natthamon Se-on, D.D.S.
The competition saw a total of 26 entries submitted across three categories from various departments and clinics within the Dental Hospital, reflecting the collaborative efforts and continuous operational development capabilities of the Faculty of Dentistry staff. The three competition categories were Quality Improvement Practices, Innovation, and Storytelling.


Competition Results
Quality Improvement Practices Category The top honour in the Quality Improvement Practices Category was awarded to the Prosthodontics Clinic for their project, “The ‘Prime Way’ to Care for Ocular Prostheses to Ensure Excellence” (วิถีตัวแม่ ดูแลตาเทียมยังไงให้สับ). Second place was jointly awarded to two projects: the Medical Records and Statistics Unit for “Online New Patient Registration Development,” and the Central Sterilising Supply Department (CSSD) for “RO Water Autoclave in CSSD.” Third place went to the Paediatric Dentistry Clinic for their project, “14 Again.”
Innovation Category In the Innovation Category, the Orthodontics Clinic secured the first-place prize for their project, “Look Closely at the NAM (Nasal Alveolar Moulding)” (เบิ่ง แนม (NAM) เด้อ). Three units shared the joint second-place award: the Special Dentistry Clinic for “Development of Patient Communication and Tracking System via LINE Official Account;” General Dentistry Clinic 2 for the “Quality Box;” and the Pharmacy and Quality Development Unit for “DRPs Trigger.” The third-place prize was awarded to the Operative Dentistry Clinic (2) for “Good Flip (Kwam–Dee).”
Storytelling Category For the Storytelling Category, the first prize was claimed by the Orofacial Pain and Therapy Clinic for their work, “Caring for the Mind, Relieving Pain, Towards Sustainable Rehabilitation.” Second place was achieved by the Outpatient Dentistry Clinic for “Morning Story: Whose Tooth Am I?” while the Dental Assistant School earned third place for “Silent Power That Creates Success.”
Strategic Alignment Award and Popular Vote Beyond the main categories, the General Administration Unit received the Faculty Strategy Alignment Award for their project, “Data in Action: Turning Data into a Dashboard Driving Dental Hospital Management.” The Popular Vote Award was granted to the Special Dentistry Clinic for the “Development of Patient Communication and Tracking System via LINE Official Account.”



The event also received special support from Khun Viroj Srisodsay, who donated rice cookers to be awarded to highly motivated personnel committed to continuously developing the quality of patient services. The Dental Hospital expressed its profound gratitude to Khun Viroj Srisodsay and extended best wishes for excellent health, happiness, prosperity, and success in all his endeavours, along with his family.
The “Pun Dao” 4th Annual Programme is regarded as a crucial activity that enables personnel from all functional areas within the Faculty of Dentistry to participate, present their work, exchange knowledge, and further develop ideas related to quality improvement and innovation, ensuring the sustainable elevation of service quality at the Dental Hospital.
