Faculty of Education KKU Hosts Computer Education Open House 2025, Deploying Digital Innovation to Sustainably Enhance AI Skills for Aspiring Teachers and Youth

On 6 February 2026, the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University (KKU), organised the “Computer Education KKU Open House 2025” at Meeting Room Saisuree Jutikul. The event showcased the academic potential and achievements of students, offering opportunities for youth to enhance their computer skills for educational applications. Associate Professor Jarunee Samat, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Education, presided over the opening ceremony. Mr. Parinya Onprukka, Project Chairman, reported on the objective of creating a learning space and systematically training collaboration skills for students in the Computer Education programme.

In her address, Associate Professor Jarunee Samat commended the organising committee for recognising the urgency of creating a space for youth to learn about information technology and computing. She emphasised that the project was an excellent opportunity for students to engage in diverse activities, exchange knowledge, and create new innovations, serving as a comprehensive platform for participating schools to fully demonstrate their academic capabilities and innovative outputs.

The activities included a special lecture titled “AI-Enhanced Teacher: Transforming Learning Management with Artificial Intelligence.” Esteemed speakers, Dr. Pinyarat Singha, Educational Supervisor at the Office of Primary Educational Service Area, Nakhon Phanom Zone 1, and Assistant Professor Srisuda Duangtod, Ph.D., from Nakhon Phanom University, covered topics ranging from the development of digital technology in Thai education to a practical workshop on using AI for intelligent learning management and professional development for teachers.

The event also featured challenging competitions for over 316 young participants, including Sumo Robot Competition, Autonomous Maze Robot Competition, Rescue Robot Competition, Graphic Design, Webpage Creation, Technology Quiz, Short Film Contest, and E-Sport (ROV) Competition.

The atmosphere was filled with creativity and warmth from schools within Khon Kaen province and surrounding areas. Ms. Siripan Wantha, a teacher from Ban Phai Sueksa School, brought students to present their short film, “Imagination,” noting that the activity provided excellent work experience and learning opportunities for the children. Mr. Cholsit Wichianpan from Jang Harn Thit Wiriya Prachasan School, an alumnus, expressed delight at the friendly welcome provided by the students and viewed the event as a valuable opportunity for building cooperative networks and promoting the academic programme.

Organising the Computer Education KKU Open House this year not only honed the leadership and teamwork skills of the university students but also reflected the Faculty of Education’s vision to be a leader in educational innovation for sustainable development. This vision is realised through academic services that create value for society. Promoting youth access to smart technologies and creative thinking is a cornerstone for ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all, fully aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to continuously and firmly strengthen the nation’s education sector.
