Khon Kaen University celebrated another significant achievement as “KKU Shuttle Guide,” a project by Team Beyond, won a Gold Medal at the Show & Share Academic Forum 2026: i New Gen Show & Share. The team, comprising students from the Bachelor of Information Science programme at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (iSchool KKU), secured the top prize in the Creative Media and Digital Content category.
The forum was hosted by Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Surin Campus, with the award ceremony held during the Open House Business Fair 2026 on 27 February 2026. This accomplishment powerfully underscores the importance of applying information design for societal benefit.

The award was granted following an oral presentation on an information innovation designed to create tangible social impact. Team Beyond consists of five members: Chutikan Mehisaksophon, Kotchakorn Mueangthi, Wanasanan Seemuang, Anatcha Kortong, and Thanyachanok Tiasuksawat, under the guidance of their advisor, Assistant Professor Punnisa Wisetsin.
“KKU Shuttle Guide”: An Innovation for Equitable Travel
The five members of Team Beyond explained that their project, titled “Development of a Digital Service to Support Shuttle Bus Travel for Khon Kaen University Students Without Private Cars (KKU Shuttle Guide),” focuses on user-centred information design. The primary goals are to improve access to the transport system, reduce limitations for students without personal vehicles, and promote the sustainable use of public transport within the university.
The project demonstrates that information design is not merely about communicating data but serves as a crucial mechanism for promoting equal access to services and supporting institutional sustainability.
Team Beyond: A New Generation Creating Social Impact
The team members further explained that throughout the competition, they presented their innovative concept to a committee of distinguished experts and engaged in knowledge exchange with students from universities across the country. This experience embodied the ‘Beyond the Classroom’ concept, reflecting learning that extends beyond academics to create genuine social impact.
“This success is not only an academic award but also a testament to the ability of Khon Kaen University students to creatively integrate the fields of Information Design, digital communication, and social impact principles,” the team stated.
This achievement aligns with Khon Kaen University’s strategic goals to develop social innovations, produce graduates with global competencies, and advance the university as a learning organisation that creates sustainable value for the community and society.
