Khon Kaen University organized the first meeting of the Good Practice and Best Practice Award Selection Committee for 2026 to define systematic criteria and consideration guidelines. The university also opened a platform for departments to present exemplary work, aiming to enhance the quality of management and establish replicable work standards at both national and international levels.
Assistant Professor Dr. Sermsak Sumannont chaired this meeting, with committee members from various university departments participating in reviewing the operational framework. This ensures that the selection process is transparent, standardized, and reflects exemplary work in the development efforts at Khon Kaen University.
Assistant Professor Dr. Sermsak Sumannont revealed that the Good Practice and Best Practice Awards aim to encourage departments and personnel at Khon Kaen University to develop efficient and systematic working models that can be shared as knowledge or expanded to other departments, both within and outside the university.
For the fiscal year 2026, a total of 34 projects from across Khon Kaen University’s divisions and departments have been submitted for consideration, divided as follows:
- Good Practice category: 24 projects
- Best Practice category: 10 projects The number of projects participating this year reflects the enthusiasm of personnel in continuously and creatively developing their work to elevate the university’s quality of work.
For this year’s award criteria, the committee has set a framework that emphasizes the sustainability and replicability of the work. The consideration is divided into two main categories, covering three academic clusters:
- Science and Technology Group
- Health Sciences Group
- Humanities and Social Sciences Group
The Good Practice award will be judged based on projects that have been implemented for at least one year, have clear operational processes, and can serve as models and be replicated within the university.
Meanwhile, the Best Practice award will focus on projects that have been continuously implemented for at least three years, have concrete operating systems, clear operational manuals, and can be replicated or serve as models at national or international levels. Both award categories have a full score of 50 points, evaluated based on six main criteria:
- Clarity of objectives
- Details and steps of operation
- Adherence to good governance principles
- Being a good example
- Monitoring and evaluation system
- Potential for replication
Projects that receive awards will receive a prize money of up to 20,000 baht along with a certificate of honor to recognize and motivate personnel to continuously develop innovative work.
The committee has also set a clear operational timeline, with three selection meetings scheduled between March and April 2026. The results will then be presented to the University’s Governance Committee for endorsement on May 5, 2026.
Following the announcement of the results, the university will produce a video showcasing the award-winning projects to serve as knowledge and models for other departments to apply. The official award ceremony is scheduled for July 2, 2026.
This initiative is considered a crucial mechanism for Khon Kaen University in promoting the development of management quality and fostering work innovation to achieve national and international standards sustainably.
