KKU Advances New “KKU Lifelong Education” System, Elevating Lifelong Learning Standards to International Level

The Office of Academic Service at Khon Kaen University is driving its Lifelong Learning strategy by mobilising executives from the Education and Digital Section, the Office of Academic Service, and the Office of Academic Administration and Development. Together, they brainstormed a restructured “KKU Lifelong Education” system, prioritising convenience, transparency, and full integration with the Credit Bank system to support learners of all ages.

On 16 March 2026, Assistant Professor Denpong Soodphakdee, Ph.D., Vice President for Education and Digital, chaired a meeting to discuss guidelines for developing and designing the management system for the “KKU Lifelong Education” curriculum. The meeting was attended by executives from relevant units, including Associate Professor Chuchat Kamollerd, Ph.D., Director of the Office of Academic Service; Assistant Professor Piyawat Saipan, Ph.D., Director of the Office of Academic Administration and Development; Associate Professor Supasit Konyai, Ph.D., Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, Office of Academic Service, and Acting Director of the Centre for Lifelong Education; Associate Professor Wanwipa Kaewpradit Polpinit, Ph.D., Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, Office of Academic Administration and Development; and Mr. Prayat Suebmueangsai, Acting Director of the Office Division, Office of Academic Service; alongside the working committee and staff responsible for the KKU Lifelong Education system and the Credit Bank system.

This meeting focused on establishing the conceptual framework and system structure to maximise the efficiency of the KKU Lifelong Education platform. The attendees jointly reviewed the entire workflow, from upstream to downstream processes. This included course proposal and opening procedures, the development of a modern application and registration system, secure payment management, the issuance of digital certificates, and, crucially, the systematic integration of academic results with the University’s Credit Bank system.

The primary objective of this major system overhaul is to establish new operational standards characterised by transparency, auditability, and flexibility to support the future expansion of lifelong education management. This initiative will facilitate general members of the public, government and private organisations, as well as learners of all ages, enabling seamless access to opportunities for upskilling, reskilling, and acquiring new knowledge from Khon Kaen University. This aligns with the University’s vision of serving as a repository of wisdom for the Isan region, open to all.
