KKU Declared a Model Organisation for Safety, Advances Committee Training to Elevate Occupational Health and Environmental Standards to International Levels

On 21–22 March 2026, Khon Kaen University organised a training programme for the Committee for Safety, Occupational Health, and Working Environment (CSOHE). Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University and Chairman of the CSOHE Committee, presided over the opening ceremony. The training, held at Administration Building 2, was attended by committee members appointed from various departments across the university.

Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul stated that Khon Kaen University places great importance on creating a high-quality and safe working environment for all personnel. This commitment aligns with the Khon Kaen University Administrative Strategy Plan for 2026–2029, which aims to establish KKU as a “Best Place to Work” under the guiding principle of fostering a healthy and secure professional atmosphere.

“This joint training for all CSOHE Committee members marks a crucial first step in establishing a unified, transparent, and verifiable safety system throughout the organisation, ensuring that all staff and students can work and learn with genuine confidence and security,” said the President. “Khon Kaen University is confident that this committee will be a key mechanism in driving KKU towards becoming a sustainably safe space for learning and working, in line with international standards. This supports the university’s vision of enhancing the quality of life for our personnel and students in every dimension.”

The CSOHE Committee plays a vital role as the university’s primary mechanism for overseeing and promoting safety, occupational health, and the working environment in accordance with established standards. Its responsibilities include reviewing and recommending safety policies, measures, and plans to the university; monitoring and evaluating the implementation of these measures across all departments to ensure effectiveness; and fostering a sustainable culture of safety at all levels of the organisation.
