The Khon Kaen University Library launches the KKU Archives AI Agent and Media Hub, making the university’s rich history more accessible and engaging than ever before.
The Khon Kaen University Library (KKUL) has announced a significant leap into the digital era with the launch of “ARChi” (KKU Archives AI Agent) and the KKU Archives AI Media Hub platform. This innovative intelligent assistant is set to transform the traditional image of archives into a vibrant, easily accessible repository of knowledge, allowing students, staff, alumni, and the public to trace the history of “Mor Din Daeng” through state-of-the-art AI technology.
The primary objective of integrating AI technology with the archives is to modernise and enhance the efficiency of historical data retrieval. “ARChi” will serve as a seamless bridge between the vast repository of information and users, enabling fluid communication and effortless discovery of answers.
Precise Searches with the AI Agent “ARChi” is an AI chatbot directly integrated with the university archives database. Users can interact with it as if they were conversing with an expert, whether inquiring about university founding documents, rare photographs of significant events, or legendary research publications. The system processes queries using reliable source data and delivers swift responses, catering to both academic research and personal curiosity.
Making Archives Engaging through the Media Hub In addition to the search system, the launch includes the KKU Archives AI Media Hub, developed under the concept “Old Stories, Retold.” The hub features:
- KKU Archives Channel: A collection of rare historical videos, including footage from the university’s establishment in 1964.
- ARChi & LIII Podcast: An in-depth podcast series exploring fascinating details, from the origins of the university’s official seal to the unique beliefs and traditions cherished by the KKU community.
- Chat with ARChi: An interactive feature designed to make exploring the world of archives a dynamic and enjoyable experience.
