Queen Sirikit Heart Center Advances Telemedicine to Reduce Travel Time and Enhance Quality of Life for Heart Patients

On 29 April 2026, the Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast launched its Telemedicine service at the Advance Heart Failure Clinic to enhance convenience for patients, particularly those living in remote areas. The service has been well-received by patients and their relatives, enabling continuous symptom monitoring and consultations with physicians without the need to travel to the hospital.

Assoc. Prof. Wichai Senthong, M.D., a cardiologist, revealed that most patients have expressed high satisfaction with the Telemedicine service. It has significantly reduced the burden of time, cost, and travel-related risks, especially for individuals requiring close and frequent follow-ups. The service is supported by the comprehensive multidisciplinary team of the Advance Heart Failure Clinic, which includes physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, and nutritionists, who collaborate to provide holistic patient care, even through an online system.

A key advantage of this system extends beyond virtual consultations. It provides patients with access to a coordinated team of specialists dedicated to managing heart failure. Medication dosage adjustments, which were traditionally made every one to three months during scheduled appointments, can now be conducted swiftly and safely through “GDMT Telemedicine” without the expense of travelling to the hospital. One patient residing in another province shared that the Telemedicine service saved several hours of travel, making it more convenient to see the doctor while providing peace of mind from receiving excellent and consistent follow-up care.

The Advance Heart Failure Clinic is open every Wednesday from 08:30 to 12:00 hrs.
