On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Khon Kaen University (KKU) participated in the sacred ceremony to receive the Royal Command from the Supreme Patriarch appointing Phra Prom Wachira Dilok (Saman Sumetho) as the official Abbot of Wat Pa Saeng Arun, a Royal Monastery located in Phra Lap Sub-district, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province. The distinguished gathering was led by the Ecclesiastical Regional Governor of Region 9 (Dhammayut) and the Ecclesiastical Provincial Governor of Khon Kaen (Dhammayut), alongside senior monastics. Mr. Khajornkiat Rakpanichmanee, the Governor of Khon Kaen Province, presided over the secular proceedings, guiding civil servants and the public to express their profound respect and congratulations on this auspicious occasion.
The grand ceremony, held at the main ordination hall (Sim Isan) of Wat Pa Saeng Arun, was marked by deep reverence and spiritual joy. Representatives from KKU joined hands with various government agencies, academic institutions, and local Buddhist communities to pay homage to Phra Prom Wachira Dilok.
