KHON KAEN, THAILAND — The Faculty of Engineering at Khon Kaen University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Interlink Communication Public Company Limited, a national leader in networking and cabling technology. The partnership aims to co-develop academic knowledge, advance technology, and strengthen digital infrastructure skills for students, university personnel, and the general public. The ceremony was held on 26 May 2026 at Meeting Room 1, 8th Floor, Pienwijit Building, Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University.
At the signing ceremony, Associate Professor Ratchaphon Suntivarakorn, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, signed the agreement alongside Mr. Panuwat Malarat, Acting Northeastern Regional Director of Interlink Communication Public Company Limited. Associate Professor Chatchai Khunbua and executives from both organisations attended the event as official witnesses. The collaboration supports the university’s strategy of experiential and lifelong learning, equipping students with practical work-ready attributes through hands-on workshops conducted by expert engineers from Interlink, alongside professional internship and cooperative education opportunities in nationwide projects.
Associate Professor Suntivarakorn stated that the project supports the establishment of international-standard laboratories equipped with networking equipment from globally recognised brands, including LINK AMERICAN and GERMAN RACK. These facilities will enable students to work with authentic equipment in a laboratory environment. The partnership will also support collaborative research and development in next-generation technologies including fibre optics, data communication, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and smart technology to meet the demands of modern industry.
The Dean noted that the initiative also aims to develop the digital workforce through non-degree short courses designed for upskilling and reskilling of personnel, alumni, and the public, ensuring participants acquire competencies aligned with current digital labour market demands. This collaboration represents a step forward for the Faculty of Engineering at KKU in producing engineers proficient in international networking standards and prepared to contribute to technological development.
The partnership reflects Khon Kaen University’s commitment to academic excellence, social contribution, and sustainable community development through industry–academic engagement. By combining academic knowledge with corporate expertise, KKU strengthens its role as an educational centre for technological innovation and human resource development in the digital economy.
