The event brings together faculty units, supports staff morale, and marks preparations for incoming undergraduate students under the “1+3 Interdisciplinary KKU Journey” programme. 

On 10 June 2026, the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies at Khon Kaen University (KKU) held a religious merit-making ceremony for its new administrative office on the sixth floor of the Lecture and Basic Skills Development Building. The ceremony was organised to mark the occasion auspiciously, support the morale of executives and staff, and prepare the faculty’s infrastructure for the ‘1+3’ instructional model commencing in the 2026 academic year. It also served to strengthen relations and build collaboration among internal university units. 

The ceremony was led by Asst. Prof. Suntaree Buchitchon, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, alongside the faculty’s executive team, lecturers, and staff. The event was honoured by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, who attended the ceremony together with senior executives from various departments across the university.

Beyond its ceremonial purpose, the event marks a concrete step in preparing to welcome first-year undergraduate students from all programmes within the faculty to the Khon Kaen campus in the 2026 academic year. Under the ‘1+3 Interdisciplinary KKU Journey’ framework, first-year students will begin their studies in an environment designed to develop foundational skills, support cross-disciplinary learning, and encourage personal growth — equipping them for a future-ready career.

The initiative reflects the cooperative relationships among internal units within Khon Kaen University, all working to advance the university’s educational mission.
