Nursing Division of Queen Sirikit Heart Center hosts ‘Refresh and Review Quality’ Workshop to Elevate Nursing Standards via CNPG and WI

The workshop aimed to standardise clinical practices and enhance patient safety across cardiovascular nursing specialities to ensure international benchmarks of care.

On 19 June 2026, the Nursing Division of the Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast organised a workshop entitled “Refresh and Review Quality: Elevating Nursing Standards through Clinical Nursing Practice Guidelines (CNPG) and Work Instructions (WI)”. The primary objective of the session was to review core professional knowledge and align nursing performance standards across the organisation.

The training focused on developing the competencies of nursing personnel, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and effective implementation of clinical guidelines. Key clinical areas addressed included specialised cardiovascular care, such as nursing interventions for patients undergoing valvular surgery, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), and surgeries for thoracic aortic aneurysms.

Furthermore, the session facilitated knowledge exchange on several critical aspects of patient care. These included palliative care for terminal patients, nursing workflows for patients utilizing life insurance benefits, tube-feeding protocols for both paediatric and adult patients, and standard clinical guidelines for administering a Unison enema. Each topic represents vital operational knowledge essential for improving healthcare quality and patient safety.

This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of the Nursing Division at the Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast to continuous quality improvement in nursing. By rigorously updating professional practices, the centre continues to foster confidence in patient care and drive the organisation towards sustainable healthcare excellence, aligning with the broader mission of Khon Kaen University to serve society through world-class medical services.
