Queen Sirikit Heart Centre Hosts 2026 Cardiac Rehabilitation Training Programme to Establish Expert Network and Elevate Cardiovascular Care Nationwide

The intensive five-day initiative equips healthcare professionals with comprehensive skills in advanced cardiac diagnostics, therapeutics, and physical therapy to enhance patient care across Thailand.

The Queen Sirikit Heart Centre of the Northeast, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University has concluded its short-course training programme, “Cardiac Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy in Cardiovascular Disease 2026.” On the final day, participants visited the Echocardiography (ECHO) Unit for a study visit. The session focused on diagnostic processes using high-frequency ultrasound, evaluation of cardiac structures and functions, and the role of echocardiography in supporting treatment planning and cardiac rehabilitation for cardiovascular patients

Held from 22 to 26 June 2026, the five-day training programme provided participants with intensive academic knowledge and hands-on practical experience. The curriculum featured academic lectures, practical workshops, and site visits to key specialized units within the centre. These included the Outpatient Department (OPD), the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit, the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab), and the Advanced Heart Failure Clinic, where participants observed holistic care models for heart failure patients. Additionally, the training included basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) simulation, successfully enhancing the skills, knowledge, and confidence required for comprehensive cardiovascular patient care.

To conclude the programme, the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit held a certificate presentation ceremony for the participants, marking their completion of the curriculum. The certified healthcare professionals will now form a network applying their knowledge to cardiac rehabilitation services across their respective institutions.
