On 28 June 2026, at 18:00 hrs, Khon Kaen University (KKU) launched the Student Activity Exhibition Project for the 2026 Academic Year. Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the opening ceremony at the KKU NEO Stadium (Multi-purpose Gymnasium). The event was also attended by Associate Professor Pensri Jaroenwanit, Ph.D., Vice President for Student Affairs and Innovation Commercialization, along with more than 5,000 students from all year levels.
Organised by the Student Development and Alumni Relations Division in collaboration with the KKU Student Organisation, the exhibition serves as a platform to encourage students to explore and participate in various university clubs. These activities are designed to enhance essential life skills, teamwork, and personal development, while cultivating the core student identity under the “KKU EGGS” framework. This framework comprises four key pillars: Entrepreneurial spirit, Global-minded vision, Growth-oriented mindset, and Sustainable-focused awareness.
Associate Professor Panthongviriyakul emphasised the value of extracurricular participation in his opening address, noting that academic knowledge alone is insufficient for holistic development.
“Student activities help mould well-rounded graduates. While academic excellence is crucial, we must also focus on other dimensions of growth,” the President stated. “In an era heavily influenced by artificial intelligence, what proves even more critical is ‘Human Intelligence’. This is developed through active engagement, meeting people, and interacting with peers and seniors. These experiences build essential soft skills that AI cannot replicate. I encourage all students, especially our first-year undergraduates, to fully immerse themselves in these activities.”
Student leaders and participants also shared positive reflections on the event. Ms. Parichat Phukingdao, a second-year student in the Science Education programme at the Faculty of Education and a member of the Volunteer and Special Investigation (KI) Club, discussed her experience. She explained that she initially joined the club out of a desire to help others and subsequently received valuable training in emergency medical services, firefighting, and investigation techniques. She noted that these practical skills are highly applicable to daily life, allowing her to care for her family and assist new students, which brings her a deep sense of fulfillment.
Similarly, Ms. Ravipa Tiamklee, a first-year student in the Event Management programme (Thai and English tracks) at the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, expressed her excitement regarding the scale of the exhibition. She remarked that the diverse club booths provided excellent guidance for freshmen. Having a keen interest in volunteering and community outreach camps, she expressed her belief that these activities help develop vital life skills and guide students toward positive personal growth.
The Student Activity Exhibition Project is organised annually as part of Khon Kaen University’s broader commitment to student development. By providing diverse learning opportunities outside the traditional classroom, the university continues to foster life skills, collaborative capabilities, and a globally recognized student identity that prepares graduates to contribute meaningfully to society.
