The joint mobile clinic served over 100 residents in remote areas of Khon Kaen, enhancing dental health access and community well-being.
On 26 June 2026, the Royal Dental Unit, working in collaboration with the Faculty of Dentistry at Khon Kaen University (KKU) and the Princess Mother’s Medical Volunteer (PMMV) Unit, deployed a mobile clinic to provide dental services to local residents at Taensilathip School in Chonnabot District, Khon Kaen Province. The initiative provided free treatment to more than 100 residents, broadening access to oral healthcare.
During this outreach mission, the dental professionals provided a range of oral healthcare services, including oral health examinations, dental fillings, scaling, tooth extractions, and fluoride applications for the prevention and treatment of oral diseases. These services aim to reduce the risk of premature tooth loss and improve the long-term quality of life for local residents. The team also performed clinical screenings to identify patients requiring advanced or ongoing care, referring them to specialist healthcare facilities as appropriate.
Alongside the clinical treatments, the dental team organised oral health education activities to foster a correct understanding of dental hygiene. These sessions promoted proper self-care habits and encouraged the public to recognise the vital importance of preventative oral care, which serves as a fundamental cornerstone for sustainable health and well-being.
This mobile service reflects the Faculty of Dentistry’s commitment to academic service and public health. By extending dental care to underserved populations in remote and rural areas, the Faculty contributes to reducing healthcare disparities and supporting community well-being.
