Nursing Division mobilises staff to enhance safety standards and patient care environments
The Nursing Division of the Queen Sirikit Heart Centre of the Northeast, Khon Kaen University (KKU), organised the “Big Cleaning Day 2026” initiative under the theme of “Creating a Clean, Safe, and Liveable Working Environment”. Staff members from all departments took part in cleaning, organising operational spaces, and improving the overall physical surroundings. The initiative aimed to support a workplace atmosphere that contributes to high-quality patient care.
The event took place across various units within the centre on 30 June 2026. Personnel from all divisions dedicated their time throughout the day to deep-clean and tidy their respective work areas. This annual initiative helps build teamwork and collective responsibility towards maintaining institutional infrastructure.
The activities were characterised by a strong spirit of collaboration, unity, and engagement among the staff. The collective effort reflects the commitment of staff to raising institutional standards of cleanliness and safety. This practice supports the healthcare facility’s reputation for service quality and visitor safety, underlining the principle that a well-kept environment is foundational to excellent patient care.
During the event, the Nursing Division’s 5S Committee conducted site visits across all departments to provide encouragement and support to the staff. The committee praised the units for their ability to arrange the environment systematically and aesthetically, highlighting their efforts as strong examples of organisational quality built on active staff participation.
This initiative aligns with Khon Kaen University’s strategy for sustainable development and organisational excellence. By maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene within its medical facilities, the university continues to strengthen its community engagement and contribution to society, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both healthcare professionals and the public.
