Khon Kaen University (KKU), through the Office of Academic Administration and Development, recently hosted the “Presentation for International CWIE KKU” programme for the second semester of the 2025 academic year. The event gave students a platform to present the outcomes of their international cooperative and work-integrated education (International CWIE), enabling them to share their experiences, exchange knowledge, and reflect on the practical lessons drawn from real-world work placements abroad. 

       A total of 19 students from three faculties—the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Science—participated in the presentations. These students successfully completed their work placements across three destinations: Japan, Malaysia, and the Republic of China (Taiwan).

       Mr. Surapon Petchvra, Vice Chairman of the Khon Kaen University Council, attended the event and delivered encouraging remarks to the presenters. He listened to the presentations alongside the audience and commended the students for their strong potential, highlighting their ability to apply academic knowledge, professional skills, and communication competencies in international and multicultural settings. 

        The presentation awards were distributed across two main categories as follows:

International science and technology category

• Outstanding Award (Winner): Ms. Thongsorn Likhitwat, Faculty of Agriculture
  • Project: “Effect of Cage Layer Tiers on the Uniformity of Pullets” (completed in Malaysia)
• First Runner-up Award: Mr. Thrisadee Kaewwongsa, Faculty of Science
  • Project: “Study and Comparative Performance Analysis of BiOCl Anodes in Sodium-ion Batteries at Various Temperatures” (completed in Japan)

International humanities, social sciences, and management category

• Outstanding Award (Winner): Ms. Netnapit Sudthong, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Project: “A Study of the Japanese Hospitality Concept (Omotenashi) in Restaurant and Reception Services: A Case Study of Royal Park Hotel Takamatsu” (completed in Japan)
• First Runner-up Award: Mr. Akkaradet Jaendong, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Project: “An Analysis of Problems and Situations in Japanese Communication among Foreign Interns: A Case Study of Tsukinoi Hotel, Japan” (completed in Japan)

The International CWIE programme plays a key role in developing student potential and preparing participants for global careers through experiential learning in real enterprises. By working abroad, students not only strengthen their academic proficiency and professional expertise but also hone their English communication skills and adaptability in multicultural environments. Ultimately, the programme builds global competencies and strengthens employability, equipping graduates with the capabilities demanded by today’s international labour market.
