On 30 June 2026, the Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University (KKU), participated in the Presentation for International CWIE KKU project for the second semester of the 2025 academic year (Session 2). The event convened at Erawan Rooms 1–2, G Floor, The Heritage Grand Khon Kaen Hotel and Convention Centre.

Assoc. Prof. Wanwipa Kaewpradit Polpinit, Ph.D., Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Bureau of Academic Administration and Development at Khon Kaen University, reported that the project gives students a platform to present the outcomes of their Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) placements after their international internships. The initiative facilitates the exchange of knowledge and experiences while enhancing professional and employability skills, including communication, presentation, language proficiency, and real-time problem-solving. In the second semester of the 2025 academic year, 93 students from 10 faculties participated in the international programme across 39 workplaces in 10 countries. For this second session, 19 students from three faculties—the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Science—delivered presentations, consisting of 16 on-site and 3 online presentations.

During the event, Mr. Surapon Petchvra, Vice Chairman of the Khon Kaen University Council, presided over the ceremony, delivered an opening address, and shared his experiences with the participants. He emphasised that international cooperative education should focus on generating meaningful learning outcomes and practical skills that can support future career growth and personal development.

Asst. Prof. Yaowapha Treekamol, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for Enterprise and Social Development and Lecturer in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, represented the university’s academic and assessment standards as a member of the international CWIE judging panel. She served alongside Assoc. Prof. Anusorn Cherdthong, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Agriculture, and Asst. Prof. Keeratiporn Jatuwariya, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. This reflects the active role Faculty of Science personnel play in supporting educational quality and evaluating student performance on an international stage.

Ms. Jiraphat Saenkaew, an Educational Officer from the Educational Services and Student Development Section, coordinated the Faculty of Science delegation and guided five student presenters at the event:

1. Mr. Thrisadee Kaewwongsa (Materials Science and Nanotechnology programme) presented on “Study and Comparative Analysis of BiOCl Anode Performance in Sodium-Ion Batteries at Different Temperatures.” This research resulted from his CWIE placement at Shinshu University, Japan, under the supervision of Lecturer Oraphan Thaimwong, Ph.D. He was awarded the First Runner-Up Prize in the Science and Technology category.
2. Ms. Chawallak Thammawong (Chemistry programme) presented on “Influence of Ligand Design on Stereoselective Ring-Opening Polymerization of Tin(II) Beta-Diketiminate Initiators for Epsilon-Caprolactone.” This project was conducted during her CWIE placement at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Taiwan, under the supervision of Purachet Ritchumpol, Ph.D.
3.  Ms. Khemjira Chanruangchai (Chemistry programme) presented on “Synthesis and Kinetic Study of Beta-Diketiminate Tin(II) Alkoxide [(Dipp₂nacnac)Sn(OᵗBu)] for Ring-Opening Polymerization of Epsilon-Caprolactone.” This research stemmed from her CWIE placement at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Taiwan, supervised by Asst. Prof. Chusak Poonsawat, Ph.D.
4. Ms. Thanyaporn Liaorungrueng (Materials Science and Nanotechnology programme) presented on “Microwave Dielectric Properties of Li₂Co₂(1-x)Mg₂xMo₃O₁₂ Ceramics for LTCC Applications.” Her work was carried out during a CWIE placement at Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, under the supervision of Prof. Supree Pinitsoontorn, Ph.D.
5.  Ms. Benyaporn Eksiri (Materials Science and Nanotechnology programme) presented on “Effect of Zn²⁺ Substitution on Structure and Dielectric Properties of Li₂Co₂(1-x)Zn₂xMo₃O₁₂ (x = 0–0.05) Ceramics for LTCC Applications.” This resulted from her CWIE placement at Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, supervised by Prof. Supree Pinitsoontorn, Ph.D.

The participation and success of these students reflect the capabilities of both students and faculty members of the Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University, in generating knowledge and innovation through international experiential learning. It also supports the development of core competencies in graduates prepared for the global stage, aligning with the university’s mission to produce high-quality human resources for global society.
