From 22 to 26 June 2026, a delegation from the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Assoc. Prof. Jureerat Daduang, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, along with executive members and faculty lecturers, undertook an official visit to Nanning and Guilin in the People’s Republic of China. The purposes of the visit were to promote the university’s Movement Science and Human Performance programme, as well as to discuss collaborative frameworks for academic advancement, collaborative research, and development in Precision Medicine with leading Chinese educational institutions and private sector organisations.
The executive team met with key administrators from several institutions, including the Guangxi College of Sports Education, Guangxi University (Medical School and School of Physical Education), Guangxi Health Science College, and Guilin Medical University. The discussions covered joint curriculum development at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, student and staff mobility initiatives, collaborative research projects, and the mutual exchange of institutional knowledge and academic experiences.
Assoc. Prof. Jureerat Daduang, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, said: “This visit represents an important step in expanding our strategic partnerships with leading educational and medical institutions in the People’s Republic of China. It will strengthen the development of our Movement Science and Human Performance curriculum, facilitate international student and staff exchanges, and build strong global research networks. Our discussions on Precision Medicine and Cell and Gene Therapy also open valuable opportunities for co-developing medical research and innovation to address future healthcare demands. The Faculty is confident that these partnerships will raise our education, research, and academic services to international standards, providing our students and staff with rich opportunities to learn from global networks while producing highly capable health science personnel prepared for future global transitions.”
Lecturer Weerapong Sujarit, Ph.D., Chair of the Movement Science and Human Performance Programme, added: “Our dialogues with the host institutions were well received, with particular interest directed towards the Movement Science and Human Performance programme. The curriculum stands out due to its integration of movement science, human performance enhancement, and health technology. The resulting collaborations will provide valuable opportunities to internationalise our curriculum, create teaching and research networks, and allow our personnel and students to exchange knowledge with leading international institutions, strengthening our graduates’ competitiveness on the global stage.”
In addition to academic institutions, the executive delegation held strategic talks with the Guangxi Xiankangda Group to exchange insights and explore commercial and research opportunities in Precision Medicine and Cell and Gene Therapy. These emerging medical disciplines focus on personalised diagnosis, treatment, and healthcare optimisation by utilising individual genetic, biological, and clinical data. This collaboration aims to maximise healthcare efficiency, enhance public quality of life, and expand international educational opportunities for the faculty in the long term.
This international visit represents a further step in strengthening the global network of the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Khon Kaen University. The outcomes are expected to support international curriculum development, cross-border research, and academic exchange, while supporting the development of health science graduates capable of addressing the evolving demands of the 21st century sustainably.
