The workshop aimed to enhance graduate education, academic excellence, and research capacity.
The event focused on strengthening organisational competencies and advancing research toward international standards. Professor Kiatichai Faksri, Acting Dean of the Graduate School, presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote address entitled “A Significant Step in Transition: The Future of KKU Graduate School as a New Academic Unit toward Academic and Research Excellence.” His presentation outlined the strategic direction for competency development and staff support during the organisational transition. He emphasised that the first six months of the current administration have focused on laying the groundwork for the Graduate School’s transformation into a new college.
Following the keynote, the executive team introduced themselves to staff members, expressing appreciation for their professionalism, commitment, and readiness to embrace organisational change and contribute to future development.
In the afternoon, participants joined staff engagement activities led by distinguished facilitators: Mr. Chaimanoo Kunok, Lecturer at the College of Politics and Governance, Mahasarakham University; Mr. Worapong Thongphut, Head of the Student Development Unit, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University; and Mr. Wuttipong Pathumwan, Social Development Officer at the Khon Kaen Shelter for Children and Family.
The activities focused on strengthening teamwork, closing communication gaps, and encouraging cross-functional collaboration. Through interactive team-building exercises, participants enhanced mutual understanding and developed practical strategies for fostering a more collaborative and integrated workplace culture under the theme “Together for Excellence.”
The workshop concluded with a strategic summary presented by Professor Kiatichai Faksri, who reviewed the outcomes of the activities and officially closed the programme.
The workshop marks an important milestone in advancing the Graduate School’s “Together for Excellence” policy. It reinforces collaboration among staff members while laying a strong foundation for the Graduate School’s transition into a new college committed to excellence in graduate education, academic achievement, and research.
