Digital Nasal Stents developed by KKU orthodontist highlight the university’s commitment to advancing commercial healthcare technology and public well-being.
The Faculty of Dentistry at Khon Kaen University (KKU) recently exhibited its latest research and innovations at the “DEMO DAY: KKU Special Showcase”. Held as part of the LAB FUTURE & BIO EXPO 2026 and the ISAN WELLNESS EXPO 2026, the event aimed to promote high-potential academic projects and foster opportunities for industrial scaling and commercial application.
The exhibition ran from 25 to 26 June 2026 at the Golden Jubilee Convention Centre, Khon Kaen University. It drew a diverse mix of researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry representatives, fostering exchange across the innovation ecosystem.
At the showcase, the Faculty of Dentistry highlighted the Digital Nasal Stent (DNS), a medical device developed by Assistant Professor Buddhathida Wangsrimongkol, Ph.D., a full-time faculty member specialising in orthodontics. The innovation reflects the Faculty’s research strength and its focus on advancing public healthcare and quality of life through medical technology. The presented inventions included:
