From 8 to 10 July 2026, the Faculty of Technology at Khon Kaen University (KKU) participated in INNOMALL Khon Kaen 2026 to showcase and retail its regional research innovations. Organised by the National Innovation Agency (NIA), the innovation exhibition ran on the G Floor, Promotion Zone, at Central Khon Kaen.
The Faculty of Technology featured an exhibition booth for “SOMA Plant Nugget”, a breakthrough research achievement developed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jirawan Apiraksakorn, a faculty member of the Department of Technology at KKU. This plant-based food innovation is designed to meet the demands of modern, health-conscious, and environmentally aware consumers, positioning it well within the growing plant-based food market both domestically and internationally.
INNOMALL Khon Kaen 2026 was organised under the concept “All-in-One Hub for Innovative Food, Goods, and Products”. The event comprised a Smart Shopping Zone featuring over 16 innovative Thai enterprises, an Innovation Showcase displaying cutting-edge advancements alongside dedicated photography corners, and a Business Matching Zone designed to bridge commercial opportunities between entrepreneurs and investors. The exhibition was free and open to the public throughout the event.
This participation underscores the vision of the Faculty of Technology as a leading organisation in driving social and commercial innovations. By advancing food technology research in alignment with international food safety standards and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—specifically focusing on good health and sustainable consumption—the Faculty aims to embed this knowledge within its teaching and research, keeping pace with a shifting global context.
