The Faculty of Dentistry at Khon Kaen University recently welcomed a prominent orthodontics expert from the United States to advance its clinical training and international academic partnerships. Assistant Professor Ajiravudh Subarnbhesaj, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, alongside faculty members from the Orthodontics Department, received Professor Tung Nguyen, Orthodontics Programme Director, Adams School of Dentistry, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, United States.
The visit ran from 22 to 26 June 2026 at the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University. Professor Nguyen travelled to the institution to serve as the Chairman of the Orthodontic Comprehensive Clinical Examination. In addition to his examination duties, he delivered a series of special lectures to share advanced knowledge and clinical expertise with residents in both orthodontics and oral and maxillofacial surgery, as well as interested dental professionals.
During the visit, representatives from both institutions held bilateral discussions to explore opportunities for academic cooperation and knowledge exchange. The talks focused on fostering future collaborations in dental education, joint research initiatives, and capacity-building programmes for staff and orthodontic residents. These initiatives are expected to raise the standard of dental education and clinical practice internationally.
