On Friday, 10 July 2026, the Office of Academic Administration and Development at Khon Kaen University organised a seminar titled “Promoting Undergraduate Recruitment Strategies for Khon Kaen University”. The event aimed to establish strategic directions for undergraduate admissions for the 2027 academic year. The seminar enabled university executives and representatives from all faculties to exchange ideas, review past outcomes, and develop admission systems tailored to evolving educational contexts and the future demands of learners. More than 100 participants attended, with the seminar held at the Orchid Ballroom on the 2nd floor of the Heritage Grand Hotel Khon Kaen.
Assistant Professor Anucha Somabut, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for Education at Khon Kaen University, outlined the public relations and educational marketing directives for the 2027 academic year. He emphasised that marketing efforts will focus heavily on proactive communication strategies, utilising data analytics and diversified digital channels to reach target groups—including high school students, parents, and secondary schools—with greater precision. These initiatives aim to sharpen the institutional brand and highlight the unique strengths of KKU, thereby increasing recruitment prospects and influencing educational decision-making among learners.
Assistant Professor Piyawat Saipan, Director of the Office of Academic Administration and Development, delivered a lecture titled “Performance Summary of Khon Kaen University Admissions for Academic Year 2026 and Preparations for Academic Year 2027”. Assistant Professor Saipan presented an overview of the recruitment data from the past year and conducted a detailed review of the admission guidelines for the Portfolio round. Key topics included refining interview criteria, strengthening ethical measures to prevent academic misconduct, and finalising the admission calendar and regulatory practices for the 2027 academic year. These measures are designed to elevate selection standards, ensuring greater quality, transparency, and fairness across all intake channels.
The seminar’s other key focus was future educational assessments. Dr. Chayachon Chuanon, Director of the Northeast Learning Intelligence Test Centre (NETSAT), delivered an update titled “NETSAT Update: Testing Directions to Elevate Student Admissions”. Dr. Chuanon explained the ongoing development of the examination framework, which aims to align more closely with 21st-century learner competency assessments. This standardised evaluation system will better reflect the true potential of applicants, establishing a reliable, uniform benchmark for student selection.
Furthermore, Mr. Atisan Srirattanaprapan, Head of the Admissions and Marketing Section at the Office of Academic Administration and Development, introduced the conceptual framework of the “KKU e-Portfolio”. This specialised digital tool systematically compiles the academic achievements, projects, and latent capabilities of prospective applicants. By enabling admission committees to evaluate applicants’ diverse talents beyond conventional test scores, the platform aligns KKU with global trends in holistic student selection.
The seminar concluded with an open forum where faculty representatives exchanged constructive feedback on institutional policies, selection processes, public relations, and technological implementation. This collaborative effort underlines KKU’s commitment to its educational mission: leveraging advanced technological tools and unified administrative strategies to foster equitable, high-quality higher education opportunities that respond sustainably to the needs of future generations.
