Khon Kaen University (KKU) organised “International Student Day 2026” on 10 July 2026 through its International Affairs Division (IAD), in collaboration with the International Student Club. Held under the theme “One Thing from Home” at the Fundamental Skills Development and Learning Building, the event formally welcomed newly enrolled international students. It also served as a platform to foster friendships, facilitate cross-cultural learning, and instil a strong sense of belonging within the university’s diverse international community.
Associate Professor Nawarat Wara-aswapati, D.D.S., D.M.Sc., Vice President for International Affairs, honoured the opening ceremony with a warm welcome address to over 200 international students from various nations. The Vice President expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the students for choosing KKU as their preferred destination for higher education, while urging them to make the most of opportunities for both academic pursuit and cultural engagement throughout their time at the university.
Associate Professor Wara-aswapati emphasised that Khon Kaen University prioritises creating an educational ecosystem that is safe, inclusive, open, and friendly for students from all corners of the globe. The university is committed to helping all international students feel at home while gaining valuable and memorable experiences during their time on campus.

Centred around the theme “One Thing from Home”, the event provided a unique opportunity for students to showcase the distinct identities of their native countries through traditional cuisine, cultural performances, exhibitions, folk games, and meaningful storytelling. These activities encouraged interactive learning among students of different nationalities, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation of cultural differences.
