The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Mahidol University held a merit-making ceremony to offer alms to monks to mark the 48th anniversary of its founding.

On 17 July 2026, Associate Professor Natsomol Thanakulrangsrit, Vice President for Legal Affairs and Corporate Communications, acting as President of Khon Kaen University, presided over a ceremony marking the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences’ 48th founding anniversary at Khon Kaen University, held on the first floor of the Faculty’s Rattanapittaya Building.

On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arthai Piyayura, Dean of the Faculty, along with the administrative team, faculty members, and staff, extended a warm welcome to the attendees.

The ceremony included an almsgiving ritual for nine monks, a Buddhist chanting ceremony, and morning almsgiving with traditional Thai offerings. Venerable Sirin Intasiri graciously presided over the ceremony, leading the monks in receiving the alms. He also recited Buddhist chants, sprinkled holy water, and bestowed blessings to bring good fortune to the administrators, faculty, staff, students, and ceremony attendees.
