Khon Kaen University Hosts 28th Higher Education Exhibition and KKU Open House 2026, Welcoming Students from Across Northeast Thailand

Khon Kaen University (KKU) launched the “28th Higher Education Exhibition” alongside the “KKU Open House 2026”, giving secondary school students, teachers, and parents direct insight into its academic programmes. Mrs Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Vice President for Legal and Communications, presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a warm welcome address to all participants.

The event took place at the Golden Jubilee Convention Hall, Khon Kaen University, on 16 July 2026, from 08:30 to 17:00 hrs. Designed to broaden educational access for students in Northeast Thailand, the exhibition allowed attendees to engage directly with representatives from various faculties of Khon Kaen University and partner institutions. This initiative aligns with the policy of the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, which encourages regional institutions to organise such collaborative events. In doing so, it helps students make informed decisions about their higher education pathways.

Mrs. Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Vice President for Legal and Communications, stated:

“This Higher Education Exhibition aims to offer participants an up-close experience of the academic atmosphere and educational environment across various faculties at Khon Kaen University. This exposure will help students discover their true interests and effectively prepare for their future university education. This initiative reflects KKU’s core educational policy, which focuses on distributing educational resources equally and comprehensively, particularly throughout the northeastern region.”

Miss Thanapha Peeksanthia, a Grade 11 student from Nongsang Wittayayon School in Kaeng Khro District, Chaiyaphum Province, shared her impressions of the event:

“This is a remarkably grand event. It features not only the diverse faculties of Khon Kaen University but also informative booths from many other universities. It is a fantastic opportunity to explore the specific fields of study that I am genuinely passionate about. Personally, my dream is to study at the Faculty of Education at Khon Kaen University to become an excellent primary school teacher in the future. I intend to share my wonderful experience here with my juniors at school and tell them that KKU is an incredibly vast and beautiful institution.”

The two-day event, held from 16 to 17 July 2026 between 08:30 and 17:00 hrs, required visitors to register via a QR code upon entry. Activities included student performances organised by the Khon Kaen University Student Union and a special lecture entitled “Smart Life, Smart Learning: Revealing the Secret Formula of Modern KKU Students—Using AI as an Assistant, Studying Professionally, and Living Life to the Fullest” by Assistant Professor Anucha Somabut, PhD, Assistant to the President for Education. A panel discussion titled “If I Could Go Back and Choose Again… I Would Still Choose KKU”, featuring guest speakers P’Heng and P’Muang Nan, followed, concluding with educational guidance sessions from the participating higher education institutions.
