Khon Kaen University executives, faculty, and staff gather to express loyalty and reinforce their commitment to public service on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s Birthday.
On 27 July 2026, Khon Kaen University (KKU) organised a ceremony for signing royal well-wishes and taking the oath of allegiance to be good civil servants and the power of the land. The event, held in celebration of the upcoming birthday of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua on 28 July 2026, convened in the First Floor Hall of the Sirikunakorn Building, Office of the President. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the ceremony, accompanied by his spouse, Dr. Ouenchit Panthongviriyakul. The event was attended by vice presidents, assistants to the president, deans, institute directors, department heads, faculty, and staff, who gathered to express their loyalty and gratitude. 
The ceremony commenced with tributes presented before the royal portrait of His Majesty the King, including the formal opening of the flower tray on the altar. Assoc. Prof. Panthongviriyakul then delivered a royal address of well-wishes and led the assembly in reciting the solemn pledge to act with integrity, adhere to good governance, and apply royal guidance in their official duties for the benefit of the nation and its citizens.
In his address on behalf of the university community, Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., expressed profound gratitude for His Majesty’s dedication to the public well-being and his role as an exemplary model of public service. He invoked sacred blessings for His Majesty’s health, happiness, and long reign as the revered soul of the Thai nation. Leading the oath, the President and attendees pledged to conduct themselves with honesty, follow in royal footsteps, resolve national challenges, and live according to religious teachings and royal advice.
Following the oath, participants sang the Royal Anthem and the tribute song “Sadudee Jom Raja.” The President then led the assembly in three chants of “Long Live the King,” signed the royal blessing book, and joined university executives for a commemorative group photograph. Faculty and staff then signed the blessing books to pay their respects.
This ceremony reflects the unity, loyalty, and deep respect of the Khon Kaen University community toward the monarchy. It reaffirms the dedication of KKU personnel to serving as upright public servants and contributing to the stable, sustainable progress of the university and the nation. In addition to the physical gathering, KKU has opened an online platform on its official website, allowing executives, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the general public to sign digital well-wishes and participate in honouring His Majesty on this auspicious occasion.
