On 24 July 2026, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Khon Kaen University held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) covering joint academic conferences and improved Thai-language instruction for foreign learners. The network comprises seven universities and one private company: Kasetsart University, Khon Kaen University, Chiang Mai University, Mahidol University, Mae Fah Luang University, Lampang Rajabhat University, Walailak University, and Suma Language and Culture Institute Co., Ltd.
Associate Professor Dr Orathai Piayura, Dean of the Faculty, signing the MOU alongside leaders from the partner organisations. The partnership aims to strengthen Thai-language teaching for foreign students, host joint academic conferences, share best practice, and raise teaching standards to meet the growing number of international students.
The network agreed on several key initiatives:
- Hosting an academic conference at least once a year
- Developing and sharing teaching materials, new ideas, and technology
- Supporting joint research and creating modern courses
- Exchanging guest speakers and staff
- Monitoring and evaluating progress regularly
This partnership will help improve the quality of Thai-language classes for foreign learners and support long-term academic cooperation.
