KKU Economics Faculty Signs MOA with Vietnam’s Top-Ranked UEH University, Presents at ACBES 2026

HO CHI MINH CITY – A delegation from the Faculty of Economics at Khon Kaen University (KKU) visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from 3 to 5 August 2026. The visit was intended to formalise a new academic partnership with the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH University) and to showcase research at a prominent international conference.

Led by the faculty’s dean, Associate Professor Dr. Sutin Wianwiwat, the KKU delegation signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the UEH School of Economics. The partnership is designed to promote student and faculty exchange programmes, facilitate joint research initiatives, and strengthen international academic networks between the two institutions.

Dean Sutin highlighted the strategic importance of the agreement, noting UEH University’s status as Vietnam’s highest-ranked institution. According to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, UEH places in the 501–600 tier globally, with its Business and Economics programmes ranking in the 301–400 range.

“Collaborating with an institution of this calibre will greatly benefit the academic development and potential of our faculty and students,” Dr. Sutin stated.

In addition to the signing ceremony, KKU faculty members participated in the 8th Asia Conference on Business and Economic Studies (ACBES 2026) on 3–4 August. The Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies (JABES), a Scopus Quartile 1 (Q1) publication, organised the conference. Dean Sutin, alongside Associate Professor Dr. Worawee Sang-awut and Associate Professor Dr. Teerawat Charoenrat, presented their research findings to an international audience of academics and researchers.

“Presenting on an international stage like this reflects our commitment to elevating the quality and impact of our research, while also building the faculty’s recognition in the global academic community,” Dean Sutin added.

The visit underscores the KKU Faculty of Economics’ ongoing efforts to expand its international academic footprint and foster global educational cooperation.
