Khon Kaen University hosted an executive delegation from Kasetsart University to share best practices in student development and foster long-term collaborative networks.
On 3 August 2026, Khon Kaen University (KKU) welcomed an executive delegation and student leaders from Kasetsart University (KU) under the “Student Capacity Building for Global Citizenship Programme”. Asst. Prof. Wichien Preechatamwong, Ph.D., Vice President for Student Affairs at Kasetsart University, led the delegation. The visit aimed to exchange student administration strategies and establish a collaborative alliance between the two institutions for long-term societal benefit.
Assoc. Prof. Pensri Jaroenwanit, Ph.D., Vice President for Student Affairs and Innovation Commercialisation at Khon Kaen University, led the welcoming ceremony, alongside Asst. Prof. Prapansak Chaveerach, D.V.M., Ph.D., Assistant to the President for Student Affairs and Innovation Commercialisation. Personnel from the Student Development Division and KKU student leaders were also present to receive the delegation. Khon Kaen University was selected as the destination institution in the Northeastern region due to its recognised achievements in student affairs management, leadership empowerment, and institutional networking.
During her welcoming address, Assoc. Prof. Jaroenwanit emphasised that leadership qualities must be cultivated during student years. She introduced the “KKU EGGS Identity” framework—the core identity model for KKU students—and highlighted the evolving role of modern student councils in actively listening to student perspectives and constructively monitoring projects. She expressed confidence that the visit had cultivated meaningful inter-institutional bonds beyond academic insights, and assured that KKU students would receive an equally warm welcome should they visit Kasetsart University in the future.
In response, Asst. Prof. Preechatamwong stated that the visit’s primary objective went beyond observational learning, aiming instead to build a sustainable network between the student leaders of both universities. He highlighted Kasetsart University’s approachable identity, its nationwide alumni support system, and its multi-campus structure spanning Bangkhen, Sriracha, Kamphaeng Saen, and Sakon Nakhon. He noted that this engagement lays the foundation for future joint initiatives between KU and KKU student networks aimed at community service and social development.
This study visit not only facilitated the exchange of best practices in student affairs administration but also established a significant milestone in deepening relations between two of Thailand’s leading higher education institutions. The collaboration sets a practical pathway for future joint projects executed by student leaders from both universities.
