Srinagarind Hospital Delivers Royal Medical Services to Remote Community in Nong Khai under Royal Initiative Project

A dedicated medical team from Khon Kaen University extends specialised healthcare services and support to underserved residents in remote areas.

On Friday, 7 August 2026, Srinagarind Hospital, under the Faculty of Medicine at Khon Kaen University (KKU), dispatched a royal medical unit to provide proactive healthcare services at Aoyama 2 School in Dan Sri Suk Subdistrict, Pho Tak District, Nong Khai Province. The unit worked in collaboration with public sector agencies and network partners, and the initiative attracted large numbers of local residents seeking medical attention and care.

The medical mission was led by Professor Somsak Tiamkao, M.D., Director of Srinagarind Hospital, alongside Assistant Professor Patanaree Luanratanakorn, M.D., and Assistant Professor Pukkapol Suvannachart, M.D. Supported by a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, and healthcare personnel, the unit delivered mobile medical services and presented essential medical equipment to local individuals with disabilities.

On this occasion, Mr. Saransak Srikruanet, Governor of Nong Khai Province, presided over the opening ceremony, accompanied by the President of the Nong Khai Provincial Red Cross Chapter. Together, they paid homage before the portrait of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Representatives from various government departments and partner organisations also attended to support the operation.

The mobile outreach offered comprehensive medical care, including general health consultations and specialist eye examinations conducted by ophthalmologists. Additionally, the social work unit’s disability service centre provided advisory services and guidance. The initiative received strong support from the Nong Khai Provincial Public Health Office, Pho Tak Hospital, Pho Tak District Public Health Office, village health volunteers (VHV), and benevolent community members who provided complimentary food and beverage stalls throughout the day.

This initiative reflects Srinagarind Hospital’s commitment to advancing royal projects and reducing healthcare disparities. By bringing specialised care to remote populations, KKU continues to reinforce its institutional mission of community engagement and social contribution, improving the overall quality of life across the region.
