On 17 August 2026, the Faculty of Economics at Khon Kaen University (KKU) hosted a ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for academic cooperation with the Association of Investment Management Companies. Assoc. Prof. Suthin Wianwiwat, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, led the ceremony alongside Asst. Prof. Dr. Jakkrich Jearviriyaboonya, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Development.

This collaborative agreement aims to prepare students for professional careers in finance, enhance necessary skill sets, and provide practical experience for the financial industry. The partnership actively encourages students to obtain professional financial licences prior to entering the job market, expands direct employment opportunities within the finance and investment sectors, and fosters mutual exchanges of knowledge and financial innovation between both institutions.

Assoc. Prof. Wianwiwat stated that this signing represents a major milestone in bridging academic knowledge with the practical demands of the financial sector. He highlighted that the Faculty of Economics remains committed to producing high-calibre graduates equipped with real-world skills and practical experience, enabling them to launch their financial and investment careers with confidence and competence.

Assoc. Prof. Wianwiwat further explained that under this agreement, the Faculty of Economics will provide public relations support as well as venue facilities for training and professional licensing examinations. Concurrently, the Association of Investment Management Companies will deliver e-learning systems, skill-enhancement training, and examination sponsorship two to three times per academic year. The Association will also coordinate internship placements and career opportunities with its member companies, directly advancing students’ prospects in the job market.

The agreement runs for three years, with the option to extend by mutual agreement. Beyond training facilities and financial sponsorship, the initiatives focus on integrating structured e-learning with corporate placement pathways to ensure long-term career readiness.

This strategic partnership reflects the ongoing commitment of the Faculty of Economics at KKU to integrate academic excellence with industry requirements, ensuring students are well-prepared to excel as qualified professionals in the evolving financial and investment sectors.
