KKU Student Affairs Division Enhances Staff Network Skills, Driving “EGGS Identity” and “Health & Well-being” to Produce High-Quality Graduates

Khon Kaen University empowers its student affairs network to advance Outcome-based Learning and support holistic student development across all dimensions.

The Student Affairs and Innovation Commercialization Division of Khon Kaen University (KKU) recently organised the “Student Affairs Staff Network Development Skill Programme for Fiscal Year 2027” at Ubolratana Dam, Ubolratana District, Khon Kaen Province. Assoc Prof Pensri Jaroenwanit, PhD, Vice President for Student Affairs and Innovation Commercialization, presided over the opening ceremony. University executives attended the event, including Asst Prof Araya Chaoruangrit, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, and Assoc Prof Prapansak Chaveerach, DVM, PhD, Assistant to the President for Student Affairs and Innovation Commercialization. Over 80 participants joined the event, including Associate Deans, Assistant Deans for Student Affairs, and operational personnel from all faculties, colleges, and the Student Affairs and Alumni Relations Division. The initiative aimed to drive the university’s Education Transformation strategy by building staff capacity to design outcome-based learning in practice.

During the opening address, Assoc Prof Pensri Jaroenwanit outlined the strategic direction for student development for Fiscal Year 2027, emphasising that universities today serve as nurturers of well-rounded individuals equipped with lifelong skills. She stated that KKU aims to shape students through the “EGGS” identity, which combines the university’s core identity with 21st-century skills: Entrepreneurial, Global-minded, Growth-oriented, and Sustainable-focused. She further highlighted the importance of shifting operational mindsets by applying service concepts that view students and parents as valued stakeholders, delivering optimal support to prepare graduates for future careers.

The two-day seminar focused on collaborative integration and practical workshops centered on two key strategic areas:

EGGS Identity and Soft Skill Academy: Featuring a special lecture and training session on “Techniques for Building EGGS: Soft Skill Transcript” by Mr Rusdee Waeduraman. The session focused on linking activity databases across faculties, student clubs, student organisations, and General Education (GE) courses into a comprehensive skill assessment system that reflects holistic student competency development.
Health and Well-being: Focusing on proactive planning to deliver comprehensive student care, including physical health, mental health, safe environments, and protection against threats to life, property, and cybercrime or scams — a vital agenda driven through a joint faculty network.
Team Building: Activities designed to foster collaboration, strengthen professional relationships, and build a cohesive network among student development staff across the entire university.

This initiative marks a significant step forward in equipping KKU’s student development network with skills in information systems utilisation, strategic planning, and policy implementation. By advancing both skill acquisition through the EGGS framework and overall health and well-being, the university reinforces its commitment to nurturing graduates who possess intellectual capability, physical resilience, and mental strength, fully prepared to serve as well-rounded global citizens.
