On 21 August 2026, the Faculty and Staff Senate of Khon Kaen University hosted an award ceremony honouring outstanding university personnel for the 2025 and 2026 academic years. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, MD, President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the ceremony and presented the commemorative plaques and certificates. Warrant Officer Suphanat Siri aisoon Setthapongkorn, Chairman of the Faculty and Staff Senate, delivered the opening report. University executives, senate committee members, and staff attended the event, held at the Saisuree Chutikul Meeting Room, Faculty of Education.
The annual programme recognises academic and support staff members who have demonstrated exceptional performance, professional expertise, and dedicated service to the university and the nation. The initiative promotes continuous improvement in teaching, research, and operational standards while preparing distinguished awardees for nomination at the national level.
In his opening address, the President expressed his appreciation for the award recipients. He stated that the programme serves as an essential platform to celebrate staff who exemplify professional competency, integrity, ethics, and strong interpersonal relations. The President congratulated all recipients for their devotion and sacrifice, noting that their contributions serve as an inspiring benchmark for the entire university community.
The Chairman outlined the senate’s role in fostering professional advancement, security, and ethical standards among staff. He explained that the selection process recognised outstanding faculty members across six academic categories: Science and Technology, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, Fine and Applied Arts, and Social Engagement. Support staff, in turn, were honoured across five categories: Service, Administration, Professional Practice, Innovation Creation, and Outstanding Operational Staff. The senate will put forward selected recipients for national evaluation under the Council of University Faculty Senates of Thailand (CUFST) and the Council of University Administrative Staff of Thailand (CUAST).
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of trophies and certificates, followed by a commemorative photograph session with university leadership, senate members, and honourees. The initiative reinforces Khon Kaen University’s commitment to personnel development, morale enhancement, and institutional excellence in line with its strategic mission.
