The three-day practical workshop gave personnel structured management tools to align institutional processes, employee competencies, and strategic outcomes with international quality standards.
The Office of Academic Service at Khon Kaen University (KKU) held a practical workshop entitled “Utilising Management Tools to Drive Organisational Excellence under EdPEx Criteria” from 26 to 28 August 2026 at the Chiang Mai Grandview Hotel, Chiang Mai Province. Designed to strengthen staff capabilities and build an integrated management framework, the programme addressed strategic context analysis, institutional leadership, and policy formulation to deliver greater value to stakeholders and service recipients.
Technical sessions were led by Professor Kiatichai Faksri, Ph.D., Dean of the Graduate School at Khon Kaen University and an experienced internal quality assessor under the Education Criteria for Performance Excellence (EdPEx) framework. Drawing on his extensive expertise, Professor Faksri shared practical insight into adapting international quality benchmarks for everyday workplace practice.
Across the three-day agenda, participants took part in hands-on action-learning modules built around key management toolkits. Practical exercises included evaluating stakeholder needs using the Value Proposition Canvas, Business Model Canvas, and Customer Journey Analysis. These were paired with structured Knowledge Management (KM) frameworks designed to draw on innovation and data-driven insight for continuous operational improvement.
In addition, participants carried out detailed analyses of operational systems using Competency Gap Analysis, SIPOC Analysis, and Process Mapping. Participants also designed strategic performance metrics using Key Performance Indicator (KPI) System Design and executive dashboard frameworks. These methodologies reinforced the core principle that sustainable organisational excellence requires the systematic integration of personnel capabilities, workflow processes, and strategic outcomes.
This organisational development initiative under the EdPEx framework aligns with Khon Kaen University’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17). The initiative underscores the Office of Academic Service’s role in applying modern administrative expertise to build internal capability, deliver high-quality academic services, and foster sustainable societal impact.
