On 23 September 2026, Khon Kaen University, through the Human Resources Division, held a ceremony to present Royal Decorations for the 2026 fiscal year in front of the royal portrait of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn. It was staged in the Saisuree Chutikul Conference Room, Faculty of Education, with Assoc Prof Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, MD, President of Khon Kaen University, presiding. Staff members awarded Royal Decorations in 2024–2025 attended to receive them before the royal portrait.

The ceremony honours staff members who have made significant contributions to the nation, religion, and the public. His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn was graciously pleased to bestow these royal decorations in recognition of their good work and to bring honour to their families.

The ceremony began with President Charnchai paying homage to the Triple Gem, honouring the national flag, and paying formal respects to the portrait of His Majesty the King. Assoc Prof Pattarawit Polpinit, PhD, Vice President for Human Resources, then delivered the formal report, after which the recipients were called forward in turn to receive their decorations before the royal portrait.

In his report, Assoc Prof Pattarawit stated that His Majesty the King had graciously bestowed the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant, the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand (both Sash and Lower-than-Sash classes), and the Chakrabarti Mala Medal on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty’s Birthday Anniversary on 28 July. His Majesty also granted permission for government agencies and organisations to hold presentation ceremonies in front of the royal portrait at suitable venues.

Khon Kaen University nominated personnel for the royal decorations for 2024–2025 in tribute to their dedication. In total, 142 individuals registered to receive the decorations, including civil servants, university employees, and permanent staff. The recipients break down as follows:

  • Sash Classes: 39 recipients
  • Classes Lower than Sash: 100 recipients
  • Chakrabarti Mala Medal: 3 recipients

On this occasion, President Charnchai delivered a congratulatory speech, offering his congratulations to all those receiving decorations in front of the portrait of His Majesty the King. He remarked that receiving such royal grace is a great blessing of lasting value and reflects the recipients’ good work for the nation, religion, and people. Whatever the class of decoration, recipients are considered honourable, and this recognition brings great prestige to their families. Finally, he invoked the blessings of the Triple Gem, sacred things, and the royal grace to grant all participants happiness, progress, and continuous success.
