25 September 2026 – ED-TEAL Meeting Room, 4th Floor, Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University – The Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University, jointly ran the “Kru Rak-Tin Student Bonding Project: Khon Kaen University – Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University”. The initiative aims to build the capabilities of student teachers under the Kru Rak-Tin programme, encourage the exchange of educational innovations, and establish a collaborative network for sustainable local community development.
Assoc Prof Dr Jarunee Samart, Vice Dean for Education and Programme Chair at the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, opened the event with warm words of welcome for the visiting delegation from Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University. Led by Ajarn Thanakrit Sakhachand, Chair of the Early Childhood Education Programme, the group of academic staff and student delegates had come to exchange knowledge and build an academic network together.
The programme began with ice-breaking and relationship-building activities led by 4th-generation Kru Rak-Tin students from Khon Kaen University, creating a friendly and collaborative atmosphere. This was followed by a hands-on workshop entitled “Kru Rak-Tin: Towards Media Creation and Innovative Knowledge Extension”, led by Ajarn Kanitphong Piyanamwanich, which laid a strong foundation for designing and developing instructional media that respond to the needs of local communities.
Participants also took part in a second workshop, entitled “Uniting Kru Rak-Tin Power: KKU – MCRU Towards Local Innovation Creation”, co-facilitated by Ajarn Kanitphong Piyanamwanich, Ajarn Sukanda Phoojira, and Ajarn Jintana Nonting. Running concurrently was a creative workshop, “Traces of Dreams on Fabric”, presented by 5th-generation Kru Rak-Tin students from Khon Kaen University, in which student teachers used natural materials from their surroundings to create vibrant colours and patterns on fabric. The activity reflected the idea of drawing on natural assets and local wisdom to develop innovative classroom learning tools.
Towards the end of the event, student representatives from both universities shared their reflections and hands-on learning experiences. The day-long knowledge exchange strengthened participants’ modern teaching competencies, their skills in creating context-based instructional media, and their understanding of the role of teachers as community developers. The innovations and concepts generated by this project will equip student teachers to apply these insights in their classrooms and improve schools in their home communities, ultimately narrowing educational inequality and promoting a sustainable quality of life in local areas.
