Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Agriculture hosted delegates from Germany’s Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences to advance joint academic initiatives, double-degree programmes, and international research mobility.
On 28 September 2026, the Faculty of Agriculture at Khon Kaen University (KKU) welcomed a delegation from Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT), Germany. The visit provided a platform for discussing and promoting bilateral academic cooperation in teaching, research, staff and student exchange, and international project development.

The day began with a special academic session entitled “Special Talk & Lecture for KKU Students” in Room 8101 (Kawee Jutikul), AG 08 Building, Faculty of Agriculture. The session gave KKU students a valuable opportunity to gain international insights and engage directly with visiting academics from HSWT.

The morning programme featured two presentations: “Introduction to the Summer Course Exchange Program at HSWT” and a “Special Lecture on Gross Margin Calculation”. Delivered by Prof. Dr Ralf Schlauderer and Dr Kateryna Tuzhyk of HSWT, the lectures combined expert knowledge with practical experience. Framed around the concept “Study – Exchange – Grow Together”, the session aimed to broaden students’ global perspectives and introduce them to exchange and further study opportunities at HSWT.

In the afternoon, the two sides held executive discussions on specific avenues for academic collaboration. Assoc. Prof. Darunee Jothityangkoon, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, was joined by Assoc. Prof. Panupon Hongpakdee, PhD, Associate Dean for Research, Innovation, and International Affairs, and Assoc. Prof. Nakorn Jongrungklang, PhD, Associate Dean for Education, in meeting Prof. Dr Schlauderer, Dr Tuzhyk, and the HSWT delegation. Talks covered the development of double-degree programmes, student and faculty mobility schemes, and joint agricultural research and innovation initiatives.

Both institutions also explored potential collaboration under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) framework, through which they hope to build strong institutional networks, enhance educational capacity, and strengthen joint research capability between Thailand and Germany.
The visit marks another significant milestone in strengthening ties between KKU’s Faculty of Agriculture and HSWT. Through joint curriculum development, exchange programmes, and agricultural research, the partnership continues to advance Khon Kaen University’s commitment to internationalisation and to academic excellence for its students and staff.
