Mechanical Engineering joins hands with the engineering community

The Department of Mechanical Engineering joins hands with the Energy Engineering Club to create understanding and awareness of energy conservation.

          On the 28th until the 31st of May 2015 the Mechanical Engineering club organized a project called 4th “Mor Dindaeng conserves energy” with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rachapon Santiworakan, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department as project leader who gave an opening speech as well as a special lecture. The topic of the special lecture was energy conservation at home. This project also featured a field trip for students at the Nam Pong power plant in Khon Kaen and Phoenix Pulp and Paper Ltd. Khon Kaen. The project has the aim to boost and create awareness for energy conservation among the youth, especially students at secondary school in the Isan region. The project also promoted the teaching by the Faculty of Engineering.

            Assoc. Prof .Dr. Rachapon Santiworakan, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering said because today energy use increases each year we have to import energy from abroad which makes us waste money to other countries in large amounts. This amount of money can be used to develop the country on other ways. An important problem is that this energy is limited and will run out some day. Therefore, using energy sparingly and knowing about energy conservation is needed by everyone. Everyone should know and understand as well as cooperate to promote energy conservation in the same direction. This way energy conservation will be a success and reduces the cost of energy. The Department of Mechanical Engineering in cooperation with the Energy Engineering Club, student club of the Faculty of Engineering organized activities under the Mor Dindaeng conserves energy project for the 4th time. This project means to promote the government policy in help create conservation of energy among the youth so that they learn about energy conservation and generate good feelings towards it for the benefit of the nation. In addition, it is an opportunity to promote the faculty and share technology in energy, research and make the faculty better known.
